From the desk of Mr. Gonzalez

Good Evening Mustangs!

MFMS Families,

As we move through the school year, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for your partnership and support. Whether it’s through your involvement with our PTO, your collaboration during important academic and behavioral conversations, or simply your daily encouragement at home — your efforts make a tremendous difference.

We know that middle school is a time of growth and learning for our students, and your commitment helps us bring out the very best in them. Thank you for trusting us, for working alongside us, and for helping build a community where every Mustang can thrive.

Respectfully,
Rudy Gonzalez

Tutoring

Tutorial Support Available

All of our teachers provide tutorial times each week to support student learning and academic growth. Each teacher offers at least two opportunities during the week for students to receive extra help, review concepts, or get clarification on assignments.
If your child would benefit from additional support, please encourage them to attend tutorials or reach out directly to their teacher to coordinate a time. We want to ensure every student has the tools and guidance they need to be successful.

Mr. and Mrs. Gratehouse

Shout Out to the Gratehouse duo!

A big shout out to Mrs. Gratehouse for your dedication to supporting our 6th grade students and their families! In addition to all of your AP responsibilities, you went above and beyond to organize and lead our 6th/7th/8th Grade Lunch on the Lawn — giving our students a well-deserved opportunity to celebrate their success.
And another shout out to Mr. Gratehouse for always stepping up to support our campus needs! When our ID printer went down this week, you came to the rescue — possibly with a little inside influence from the Gratehouse homestead! Either way, we’re incredibly grateful for your help and partnership.

Thank you both for your commitment and care for our MFMS community!

Lunch on the Lawn (PBIS)

Lunch on the Lawn is one of our Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) systems that we use to help motivate students to navigate good behavior and set passing standards for themselves each 9-weeks. We hope that they enjoyed their time.

Unnecessary Items at School

We ask for your support in helping us maintain a safe and focused learning environment by monitoring what your child brings to school each day. Items that do not serve an educational purpose can become distractions in the classroom and may be taken up by staff if they interfere with learning.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure that our students are set up for success each day.

Phone Free Campus

This is a friendly reminder that Marble Falls Middle School is a phone-free campus during the school day. Students are expected to keep their phones put away in their backpack to minimize distractions and support a focused learning environment.
Additionally, the school is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged phones or devices. We ask that all students keep their devices secured in their backpack if they choose to bring them to school.
Thank you for your support in helping us create a positive and engaged learning space for all students.

The Hungry Herd

In collaboration with PBIS and the MFMS PTO, Marble Falls Middle School will offer The Hungry Herd. This will be an opportunity for all students in good standing to purchase snacks at the very end of the school day. The funds raised from this will go back to MFMS PTO for our teachers and students.
Good standing for the week = Students that have had no discipline referrals, no tardy's or tardy sweeps, and have had their ID for that school week.
8th Grade Honor Card students will have a $10 credit with the school for some free snack at The Hungry Herd.
We will offer this the last Friday of each month. We will be monitoring behaviors for the week of Oct. 28th - 31st. Our next opportunity for the Hungry Herd will be Friday October 31st.

Lost and Found

Coats, lunch boxes, and water bottles...oh my! It’s that time of year when our Lost & Found is filling up quickly. Please encourage your student to check the Lost & Found stations if they are missing any items.
To ensure space and organization, we periodically donate unclaimed items to local charities and churches. We want to give every student the opportunity to recover their belongings before that happens, so please remind your Mustang to take a quick look!

Thank you for your help in keeping our campus organized and ensuring items make their way back home.

Common Space Expectations

Some general expectations for the hallways at all times:
Hands to Self - We need all of our students to know that putting hands on other individuals is not always welcomed. Sometimes it can lead to more aggressive play and/or fighting. We need our students to know and respect the boundaries of their peers and above all else understand that physicality in the hallways creates an unsafe environment for others including themselves. Fighting may result in a consequence of DAEP or EPIC placement. Please be safe.
Running - Running is never safe and can cause incidental injuries to others or self. This is occurring mostly due to wandering and then trying to make up time getting to class. We just want our students to go in the correct direction (class) and walk on the right hand side of the halls.
Language - Foul, Vulgar, Racist language is NEVER acceptable in our hallways or classrooms. This may result in immediate higher level consequences or deemed to be considered as verbal bullying/harassment.
Unnecessary items at school - We will confiscate any items that have no academic value at school and/or may cause a disruption or distraction. This may result in campus consequences. This includes: toys, trinkets, aerosols or colognes/perfumes, as well as items that may be traded (large family sized food items).

We greatly appreciate your support and assistance with the conversations you have with your scholar this year. We want our students to be successful at the end of each and every day.

Athletics

Good evening Mustangs!

Parents, thank you for your continued support of our Mustang athletes! As we move through the season, please help us reinforce the importance of winning both on the court and in the classroom. True success comes from demonstrating effort, discipline, and teamwork in every area — from practices and games to daily academics.

Together, we can help our student-athletes build habits of excellence that will serve them well beyond the season. Go Mustangs!

Thank you for helping us keep the game safe and organized!

Thank you for being such an important part of the Mustang team. We are proud of our athletes and grateful for the example you set each day.

If you have any questions about athletics or our different sports you can reach out to the school. Our athletic coordinators are Coach Randi Humphreys and Coach Zach Wagoner. Follow athletics on social media for more information Facebook = MFMSAthletics

Attendance

Attendance Matters

It is HUGELY important to have our scholars here each and every day. Did you know that in High School a low attendance rate can result in a denial of HS credit. More importantly studies show that good attendance can have a direct positive impact on academic growth.

For the week of October 17 2025-26 the middle school was at 96.71% attendance rate.

Our weekly goal is 96% or better
Sufficient sleep. Healthy Diet. Exercise. Be here each and every day!

Business Neighbors and parking

We kindly ask for your cooperation in ensuring safe and efficient drop-off and pick-up procedures for our students. Please avoid using local business (HEB and McDonald's) parking lots as alternative drop-off or pick-up locations. These areas are not designated for school traffic and can create safety concerns for students, staff, and business patrons.
HEB is turning students away before school hours and after school hours that are unaccompanied without a parent. Please do not have our students wait there for any reason.
For the safety of everyone, please use the school’s designated drop-off and pick-up zones. Following these guidelines helps maintain a smooth traffic flow and keeps our students safe.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for helping us create a safer environment for our school community.
Skyward Family Access

Skyward access to schedules

Please make sure to check grades and attendance in Skyward Family Access. Teacher are entering in grades weekly. We want to stay on top of our scholar's grades. This is an easy way for our teachers to communicate with you and share what current grades are. Teachers are expected to enter 1 grade per week and the weeks go fast.
For the purpose of UIL, please know that students may lose eligibility and not able to participate in after school events (such as athletic games, choir and/or band concerts)
PLEASE form a habit between you and your learner to check grades and communicate with their teachers. We hope that the new Parent Square communication platform is helping out. Please see the announcements that teachers are sending.
